Epoch Studio helps you write a book, understand the one you have written, and turn it into something finished — with an AI that runs locally, on hardware you already own.
Your manuscript stays on your machine. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no telemetry. The AI models ship with the app and run offline. If you would rather use a cloud provider, you can — but you have to turn it on, and the setting starts off.
We do not train anything on your book.
What it does
- Write — a real word processor, with an assistant that has read your book rather than a generic chat window.
- Understand — Epoch builds a working model of your story: who knows what, who was where, which threads you opened, and which ones you never closed.
- Picture it — generate characters, scenes and covers locally, with the look kept consistent across the project.
- Finish it — print-accurate layout, covers, and export to the formats a publisher actually wants.
- Hear it — narrate chapters in character voices and produce an audiobook.
Where it is
Epoch Studio is in alpha and in daily use by its author on a full-length manuscript. It is coming to Steam for Windows. This site exists so the privacy policy has a home before that; there is nothing to buy here yet.
Who makes it
Epoch Studio is built by Chris Kantz and published by Epoch Works LLC in Jerome, Pennsylvania. It is a small operation, which is part of why the software is built to work without a server behind it.
