What to include
Most problems are diagnosable from three things:
- What you were doing, and what you expected instead.
- Your Epoch Studio version, from the app's title bar or Settings.
- Your operating system, and — if the problem involves the local AI or image generation — your graphics card.
Epoch Studio can also produce a support bundle from Settings. It gathers the app's own logs and hardware details, with file paths and credentials scrubbed, so you can attach one file instead of describing your machine. It is built not to include your manuscript, prompts, or project names, and it tells you what it removed. Nothing is sent anywhere until you attach it yourself.
Two things worth checking first
- The local AI will not start. Local models need a compatible graphics card and a few gigabytes of free disk space. Settings shows what your machine was detected as and what it can run.
- A model download fails. Some antivirus products inspect encrypted connections and break large downloads. The app retries and then reports the exact error; send that message along, as it identifies the cause precisely.
Your data, if something goes wrong
Your projects are stored on your own machine, so they survive a reinstall. Exporting a project from the library before troubleshooting is still a good habit. See the privacy policy for exactly where everything lives.
